Madilyn's Blessing

As part of our religious belief, we bless infants; similar to a Christening but without the baptism part. We were very busy, but took some time to invite the families together at our house for Madilyn's Blessing. Typically, this is done at our meetinghouse. Due to moving and all sorts of other things, we got permission to take care of this at our home. Usually what happens for a blessing is that a special prayer is said that announces the baby's name for the records of our church. Then, the person offering the blessing is able to pronounce blessings on the baby as they are inspired. For example, after Madilyn's name was announced, her dad blessed her with good health. We don't take pictures of the actual blessing, but we did take pictures of the day.
This is the same dress that Beth was blessed in when she was a baby.

Here are the Grandpas...and Uncle Brit. Grandpa Ken is on the left and Grandpa Steve is on the right. It was nice to have all who were able come down for the special day.

A brief family moment.

That is such a neat tradition that she was blessed in your blessing dress. Beckett was wearing mine when we blessed him. Or not, but it's neat you can share that with your daughter.
