Update...

It has finally hit the really hot weather here. I have found one solution. There is an indoor play facility that has couches and wifi for the parents & play equipment for the kids. Most importantly it has air conditioning and I don't have to worry about forgetting the sunblock!

I signed Madi up for a tumbling class. It has taken all six classes for her to participate in some things, but I think she enjoyed it. Here are a few of her favorite things to do:

The trampoline

She will jump on there the entire class time if I would let her. The last two times we had class, they taught her to jump with her feet open and then closed. It is all she has been doing for the last two weeks (without the trampoline!)

The balance beam (by the way, not so easy to take a picture while holding on to the subject of the photo...)

They had the kids dip there feet down to touch their toes to the "good guys" - which consisted of Nemo, Dori, Crush from "Finding Nemo" and Oscar & Lola from "Shark Tale". Madi is a big fan of "Nemo".

Outdoor Music

We have my neices staying with us for the week and Madi couldn't be more thrilled to have people pay attention to her. On Saturday night we decided to go to the local outdoor mall and listen to some live music.

Megan and Andrea decided to race one another around the circle on the ground. I really don't know who won, but they sure had fun racing.

Madi really liked playing with this little girl there that was about her age.

All the kids there seemed to enjoy running around and listening to music - even if it was not country and southern rock like I told Andrea and Megan it would be. Oh well. Madi got everyone dancing anyway. She amazes me that she can demand/ask people to do things and they magically do it.

Free movie!!!

Vegas does this really cool thing where several movie theatres offer free movies to get kids out of the heat. We decided to see if Madi could make it through a movie. We were somewhat successful. Hey, I'd never seen Kung Fu Panda before, and it was something to do that didn't cost me more than my time...and a little bit of running around the movie theatre. I think if it were a movie she were familiar with (Finding Nemo seems to be a favorite lately...) we could have had a more "restful" viewing of the movie, but hey.

p.s. camera phones don't take the best pictures...

Cute kid...

We just got back from a weekend with family. It was nice to get away, but nice to be back as well. Madi had fun playing in Grandma's yard - the front yard off the busy street. I'm glad that Madi takes time to smell the flowers in Grandma's front yard. What a cute kid.

A truce of sorts...

Naptime and bedtime have become a fight at our house more often than not. Today it has taken me almost two and a half hours to get Madi to take a nap. Mind you, we have had swimming lessons and "gymnastics" this morning. I took notice of the quiet and decided to check on Madi and found her like this...
